How temperature and humidity sensors help farmers

How do temperature and humidity sensors help farmers protect their crops and save money?

In agriculture, success often depends on the ability to monitor and control a number of factors, especially temperature and humidity. This blog will focus on how temperature and humidity sensors can help farmers protect their crops, especially corn, and save money.

Farmer Ion and the Smart Corn

Ion is a farmer from the Dobrogea region who faces specific challenges in growing corn. Drought is a major problem, and inefficient irrigation can result in the loss of thousands of pounds of corn. To solve this problem, Ion invested in temperature and humidity sensors.

These sensors, strategically placed in the field, send him real-time data about the state of the soil and atmosphere. With this information, Ion can decide when and how much to irrigate, avoiding water waste and ensuring his corn gets the right amount of moisture to thrive. This protects his crop and saves him money in the long run by reducing water and energy costs for irrigation.

Farmer Gabriel and Fighting Disease

Gabriel grows corn in a large area in Moldova. He had problems with the " fusarium " disease, which developed rapidly in high humidity and moderate temperatures. In the past, Gabriel has lost a significant portion of his crop to this disease.

To combat this problem, Gabriel invested in temperature and humidity sensors. Sensors enable it to monitor conditions that favour disease development and intervene accordingly. When sensors indicate a combination of temperature and humidity that favours the disease, he can take preventive measures, such as applying fungicides, before the disease spreads. In this way, Gabriel protects his crop and saves money by preventing losses caused by disease.

Farmer Dan and Crop Optimization

Dan is a farmer from Banat who wants to improve the yield of his corn crop. He knows corn needs a certain combination of temperature and humidity to grow optimally. To achieve this, Dan chose to use temperature and humidity sensors.

Dan's sensors in his field accurately measure the temperature and humidity of the air and the soil. This data is sent in real-time to Dan's smartphone app, allowing him to analyze and compare growing conditions to ideal corn crop yields.

The outcome? A better and healthier harvest. And thanks to reduced losses and increased productivity, Dan saves money and increases his farm's profits.

In conclusion, temperature and humidity sensors are a valuable investment for farmers. They actively monitor and control plant growing conditions, allowing farmers to protect crops, improve yields and save money.
